Project Management of a New Government Graduate Program
The Challenge
The Saudi government approach to developing fresh Saudi graduates is a core part of the government’s people strategy. Their emphasis on providing a world class working environment focused on continuous learning is vital - and the quality of their Graduate Program must match this high standard.
A Training Provider approached Faze 3 in order to support a major government department client with its requirements:
-
Attract and retain high potential Saudi Nationals
-
Provide a structured learning pathway through a combination of experiential, technical and leadership skills.
-
Prepare their exceptional National talent for roles within the organization.
The remit was to design a program that covered a broad spectrum of topics including strategy, finance, procurement, and other business focused topics. Faze 3 was requested to design and deliver tracks for Information Technology, Cybersecurity and Project Management
Our Solution
For each of our tracks we developed a 6-week program consisting of a combination of teaching, practical sessions and focused assessments.
We worked alongside the training partner team and internal experts on the design of the program to focus equally on their graduate’s personal development as well as preparing them with the knowledge to understand the core elements of each topic and gain the confidence to quickly grasp concepts within their planned technical rotations, aligned with government department’s vision, values and strategy.
Constant feedback from the client, graduates and through our own evaluation on the program ensured the young graduates were motivated and aware of the opportunities that this program opened up for them in relation to Learning, Development and Career paths.
A Faze 3 project manager and PMO support were assigned to ensure all aspects of the delivery were thoroughly planned and executed.
The Result
Faze 3 worked closely with both our partner Training company and the end client’s L&D department to structure a well-designed program focused on an immersive training environment that delighted out clients.
We ensured the training was delivered in an engaging way within each specialist track by utilizing a variety of subject matter experts within each 6-week period and ensuring that each session was interactive and maximized the opportunities for hands-on practice.
We received senior advocacy and support from the government department’s own experts presenting as guests as well as Directors welcoming the Grads on to the program and into the department.
We received excellent feedback from the graduates, and this was reflected in the overall performance and attendance scores within our tracks, with some great learnings on how we can continue to improve these programs in the future.
